The Greatest Airline Meals of the 20th Century is a ticketed dinner event that takes diners back in time, through food, from the dawn of commercial aviation in the 1930s through the final flight of the Concorde in 2003.

Each of the seven courses is drawn from actual vintage airline menus, prepared with modern technique but grounded in original recipes, photographs, and menu archives.

From the rickety, unpressurized passenger planes of the Depression era to the glamorous 747s of the 1960s when Pan Am and TWA were battling to outdo each other for jet set travelers, food — the fancier the better — was a critical element of attracting business. At this event, attendees will step back in time and sample those foods for themselves.

The event will be hosted and emceed by Bill Oakley, Emmy-winning comedy writer and former showrunner of The Simpsons, who now, in addition to his writing work, has become a food personality — appearing regularly on the History Channel’s The Food That Built America to recount the fascinating and sometimes bizarre stories of American food brands.
